From the West

Brothers & Sisters, Young & Elderly,

I feel compelled to mention "young & elderly" in that we've begun to grow yet again; for those of you who haven't heard. With the resurgence of the Rainbow Girls and the revival of the Trenton DeMolay chapter, my guess is that we'll be seeing a little more of our Masonic Youth around the Temple in the days to come. Let's all be sure to welcome and make them feel comfortable as well as be ever willing to offer guidance and good counsel when needed. In an era where we shop from home, work more for less and drink bottled water; THEY are the future and it will be up to them to continue our ancient craft.

Speaking of tradition and antiquity. I'm happy to report that regardless of what traditional differences there may be between one Grand Lodge and the next, a brother is still a brother across state lines. What am I talking about you may ask? Why .............the recent trip by Olive Branch Lodge

<ffi42 along with Bro. Doug Noland, Bro. Bill Reilly and yours truly to a Lodge in Grove City Pennsylvania. That's right! Saturday April 16th, these brothers and I were proud to travel with our brothers from Olive Branch Lodge in Dearborn for a picnic, overnight stay and opportunity to exemplify the Fellowcraft Degree in Masonry. While there were a number of differences between our Lodge systems, the basic foundation and the principles of Freemasonry were ever so evident as we were received so very very well by the Pennsylvanian brothers. An excellent time was had by all and it was a pleasure to be able to share such an experience and travel with my brothers from Trenton as well as Dearborn. Hopefully this may inspire our own Lodge to try something of a similar nature in the future as I was able to witness yet another example of "the spirit of Freemasonry".
